Upcycled vintage framed story book illustrations

I only use recycled frames and vintage story books. I bring them back to life with a little love and a coat of paint. These are not new, there may be minor imperfections that add to the character and uniqueness of this piece.

Just lovely !! 35x20 Julian Ritter lithograph.
I found a Julian Ritter framed lithograph at the thrift store for 5 bucks !!!!! Its beautiful ! It's of a lovely blond lady !! I'm just so happy I could scream...(screaming) hee, hee. His original art sells for thousands of dollars ! Mines probably only worth a few hundred but I'm not selling it EVER ! I'll post a picture soon. I seem to have lost my camera cord for downloading :(

I like to ramble...

This is my husbands favorite. "The Challenge" vintage painting of a bull fighter. It is huge !!! We have it over our fireplace, it almost reaches the ceiling. I love the colors ! All the greens and blues ! I like to have my home full of bright beautiful colors. This has a pretty engraved wooded frame. It is very light weight. This is a print and not an original painting. It is signed Lee Bukk. I did an Internet search for this artist and got nothing but a bunch of filth. I think there are more of these out there somewhere though. The back has a sticker on it that says TURNER MFG. CO. CHICAGO "The Challenge" fashion plate wall accessories.

For my love of Vintage

I've decided I need a blog ! So that I can share all my treasured finds with the rest of the vintage loving world.

I wanted to start with my vintage art collection. My collection of old paintings isn't worth a whole lot of money but each one is priceless in its own special way. Its really hard for me to pass up an old painting when I'm out and about on the prowl for new treasures. The other day I found my favorite piece. It's a portrait of a young boy resting his head in his hand with a sad look upon his face. I couldn't take my eyes off of it...I just stared and I imagined who this young boy could be ?? And why such a long face. I imagined he was somebodies beloved son, someones little brother, somebodies best friend. This sweet little boy is probably an old man now or even not on this earth anymore at all. A boyscout he WAS, or a baseball player not very happy to have to set still to have his picture painted OR he is a figment of the artists imagination, completely made up...but I like to think otherwise. I like to think he was real, somebodies sweetheart who grew up to be somebodies husband and someones father and grandfather and so on. Now I have a small piece of this boys life hanging on the wall above my kitchen table.
